Why menopause education in the workplace?

  • Perimenopause can begin as early as a woman’s late 30s and last ten years.

  • 1 in 5 employees are currently in the perimenopause transition.

  • 20 percent will experience symptoms severe enough to interfere with work and life.

  • 1 in 4 consider leaving the workforce during perimenopause. when employee leaves the workforce, costs one year’s salary to replace them.

  • $1.8 billion is lost every year to menopause-related work absences, much of which is preventable.

All women go through menopause. Many are hit with symptoms (recognized or not) at the height of their careers that adversely impact energy, focus, immune function, mood, level of confidence and ambition.

Basic menopause education is essential not only for women, but for men in the workplace, as well. Raising awareness helps everyone more quickly get to the root cause and find appropriate solutions.

Despite recent mainstream media discussion, confusion and misinformation surrounding perimenopause remains.

Menopause-informed workplaces, managers, and employees are better equipped to support, cope, and thrive during this often challenging phase of life.

When all employees are informed and women obtain proper treatment, workplace productivity, colleague interactions, and overall wellbeing is improved.

Good for employees, good for the company, good for the bottom line.
